Introduction

At LoloTales, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service. LoloTales is designed for families, and we are especially committed to protecting children's data.

Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve our service:

• Account information: email address, display name, and profile picture when you create an account.
• Story content: the stories, characters, and images you create using our platform.
• Usage data: how you interact with our service, including pages visited and features used.
• Payment information: processed securely through third-party payment providers. We do not store your full payment details.
• Guest accounts: if you make your free first book without signing up, we create a temporary account for that device. We do not ask for your email until you choose to keep the book. Guest accounts that are never claimed may be deleted later.
• Child profiles: inside the family account, a parent can add reader profiles for their children. A profile holds a name, an avatar, reading progress, an optional PIN for grown-up features, and a coin allowance.
• Photos and drawings: if you upload a photo so a character looks like a real person, a photo for a memory story, or a photo of a child's drawing, we use it only to make your book. Our AI providers process it for us.
• Delivery details: if you order a printed book, we collect the name and address it is sent to and share them with the companies that print and deliver it.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the LoloTales service.
• Generate personalized stories and illustrations using AI technology.
• Process payments and manage your subscription.
• Send important service updates and notifications.

Children's Privacy

LoloTales is for parents and guardians. A parent creates the account and adds reader profiles for their children. Children do not create accounts, and we do not ask children for their own contact details. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Grown-up features, such as buying coins, are protected by a parent check. Any information about a child, such as a character name or a photo, is provided by the parent or guardian.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use trusted cloud infrastructure providers to host your stories, images, and account data. You can download your data and delete your account yourself in Settings, or contact us.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate LoloTales (such as AI generation services, cloud hosting, and payment processors). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Who Processes Your Data

We use these service providers to run LoloTales: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Render (hosting), Stripe (payments), Replicate (the AI models that write, draw and narrate the stories) and Resend (email). Printed books also involve a print partner and a delivery company. They process data only to provide their service to us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your personal information at any time.
• Download a copy of your data (stories, orders, messages and more) from Settings.
• Opt out of non-essential communications.
